Most women use strong soap and spray to cleanse their vagina
and this will only do harm, not good for the vagina. Yes, you need to feel
confident down there but if you make the wrong move in cleaning your vagina you
could end up with an itchy skin and have yeast infection.
Each woman has her own unique vaginal scent, if you’ve
noticed you’ll know what yours smell like, but the smell could change because
of sweat and perspiration, thus when they mix with the bacteria on your body,
it creates an odour.
And here are the healthy ways to keep your vagina healthy,
clean and fresh;
1. Occasional washing
After using the toilet (pee or poo) clean up using water or
tissue. Water is what you really need to clean up your external woman part
(vulva), so when you’re taking your bath, wipe the area with your hands or your
washcloth gently to clean the area. But your vagina(the inner part) is
self-cleaning, it doesn’t need your help, thank you very much.
When you use the toilet, wipe from front to back, this will
ensure that you don’t drag the germs in your anus to your vagina area. If these
germs come in contact with your vagina, it can cause urinary tract infection.
2. Do not use harsh
cleanser
Also, when you use harsh cleansers to clean your vagina it
can disturb the ph level of your vagina and this can lead to infection and
vagina odour. If you really have to clean your vagina with soap, use mild,
unscented soap, rinse thoroughly with warm water to erase all traces of soap.
Leaving soap behind around the vagina can cause irritation and cleaning the
vagina frequently isn’t advised it can cause itching, dryness, changes in
discharge and yeast infection
3. Do not douche
Douches are chemicals that will make your vagina smell like
a flower garden, very nice, but, it might have a negative effect. It washes
away the bacteria that helps clean your vagina and the remnant of the chemical
can cause itching, burning. And if you’re planning to get pregnant soon, stay
off douching too.
