Easy ways to keep fit
Many people think that it takes a strict diet and fitness regimen to stay in good shape, and that is simply not the case. While the level of attention you pay to your diet and exercise is directly related to the quality of your health, keeping fit doesn't have to be a huge ordeal. Simple changes in your lifestyle and activity level can help you to keep fit.
Take the Stairs
Taking the stairs is a great excuse to get some exercise, especially if you work in an office building. Rather than taking the elevator down for your break or to get your lunch, take the stairs. If you are feeling like doing a bit extra, take the stairs up and down a few extra flights before you settle back down at your workstation. This can help to relieve stress and get you moving when you would otherwise be sitting around.
Get a Walking Buddy
If you are trying to get fitter, chances are that there is someone else in your life that has the same aspirations. Even if you don't need a gym buddy, consider asking a friend or associate to walk with you. You can walk early in the mornings or in the evenings if your schedule doesn't permit such casual exercise during the daytime. Find a regular time to walk with a friend and catch up on each other's lives while burning away those extra calories.
Use Free Time Wisely
If you find yourself with free time waiting for the clothes to dry, the bus to arrive or your computer to restart, fill in those time gaps with exercise. Run in place, do jumping jacks, perform a few yoga poses or do some pushups or calf raises while you wait. These short stints of exercise can add up to lots of burned calories.
